When to visit: We recommend visiting during the shoulder season to avoid the crowds (think April to May). The temperature will be around 20 degrees (but can feel warmer in the sunshine) and perfect for long beach days.

1. Playa de Muro
Location: North coast, near Alcúdia
Highlights: Long sandy beach, shallow waters, and family-friendly, amenities such as sunbeds and restaurants.
One of the longest beaches in the Balearic Islands, Playa de Muro is absolutely gorgeous, it’s a paradise of white powder sand, turquoise waters and views of the mountains.
This best beach in Mallorca stretches for a whopping 3.7 miles, resulting in tons of space for everyone. The beach is officially divided into two sectors and has calm and shallow waters making it the perfect spot for families to relax. Playa de Muro has sun loungers, parasols, showers, and toilets as well as a lifeguard on duty.
2. Camp de Mar Beach
Location: Southwestern coast
Highlights: Small hotels and gorgeous beach bars + one of the most iconic restaurants jutting out into the sea: Restaurante Illeta
Set in the South West of Mallorca this little beach can be a popular one. It’s a small beach cove that’s around 180 meters wide. The beach is well-serviced with a lifeguard, toilets, pedalos to hire and beach bars. But, the main attraction is the restaurant Illeta. Accessed off a jetty from the beach the restaurant has incredible views from every direction and makes you feel like you’re sat on a private beach.
Booking a table isn’t mandatory however, it is advised as it can get very busy. We queued for around 1 hour to get a table and then were given one in the middle of the restaurant instead of one with a direct sea view (luckily the kind waiter took pity on us and moved us as soon as one became available with incredible views). We enjoyed vegetable paella and sangria. Both were *chefs kiss*.
We went on a boat trip around Camp de Mar and returned the following day to visit Restaurante Illeta. We really recommend going on a boat trip around the island as this is such a great way to spend the day, seeing lots of little beaches and coves that you might not have visited before.
We recommend checking them out below and choosing one that suits you (some are party boats, others are really relaxed and some are family-friendly) so it’s worth having a browse to find one that suits you!
3. Cala Mesquida
Location: Northeastern coast
Highlights: Dunes, clear turquoise waters, excellent for swimming and snorkelling, natural surroundings.
Cala Mesquida is fairly remote, as far as Mallorca beaches go, located in the northeast of Mallorca, around 15km from Arta with lovely white sand and crystal-clear waters. Cala Mesquida can be found in a quiet resort village in the northeast near Capdepera and Arta. There are no showers or toilets on Cala Mesquida but a great selection of sun loungers with parasols are available to hire.
4. Cala Pi
Location: Southern coast, near the village of Cala Pi
Highlights: Nestled between cliffs, calm turquoise waters, sandy beach, ideal for families, accessible via a staircase from the village.
Cala Pi is perfect for those seeking a peaceful spot with stunning natural beauty. Pine trees and rugged cliffs surround the cove, adding to its secluded feel. Cala Pi is only about 50m (164ft) wide but, the white sand and crystal-clear water more than makes up for that. There are no facilities at the beach level so bring with you something to lay on, a towel, water and anything else that you might want for the day.
To get the best view of Cala Pi head to the top left, here you can walk up to the famous viewpoint and enjoy incredible views out towards the sea and inwards over the beach. When searching for the best beaches on Mallorca Spain don’t sleep on Cala Pi.
5. Cala Llombards
Location: Southeastern coast, near Santanyí
Highlights: Small sandy beach, clear blue waters, dramatic cliffs, popular for snorkelling and cliff jumping, picturesque setting.
One of the best beaches on Mallorca Spain and potentially the most beautiful is Cala Llombards.
Offering a charming and intimate beach experience. The spot is a gorgeous, secluded cove on the southeast coast and one of the best beaches in Mallorca. The beach is framed by rocky cliffs and lush greenery, creating a postcard-perfect scene complete with a fisherman’s house jutting out of the cliffs. Cala Llombards is a favourite for visitors and offers a picture-perfect spot with the option of getting out on the water and enjoying some water spots.
6. Cala Mondragó
Location: Southeastern coast, within Mondragó Natural Park
Highlights: Picturesque setting, nature trails, calm waters, protected environment.
Located within Mondrago National Park alongside S’Amarador Beach, Cala Mondragó is situated on the Southeastern Coast of Mallorca. Cala Mondragó is a protected blue-flag beach with fine white sand and turquoise water. It’s one of the most ideal Mallorca beaches for families, with a beach bar and a car park nearby. There are also a limited number of sun loungers and parasols available for rent, plus, toilets.

Location: Northeastern coast, near Capdepera

8. Cala Deià
Location: Northwest coast, near the village of Deià

A winding single-lane road leads from the village of Deià to a pretty pebble beach sheltered by wild rocks. Once a tiny fishing port now Cala Deià, thanks to Instagram, is one of the most popular coves on the island of Mallorca. Don’t even attempt to park at Cala Deià as the parking at the beach can get extremely crowded, especially during high season. Instead, opt for a short hike from the village down a footpath (you’ll see it signposted) among the beautiful olive groves and orchards.

Location: Southeastern coast
Highlights: Small and tranquil, stunning turquoise waters, rocky coastline, perfect for diving and snorkelling.
Found on the southern tip of Mallorca lays Cala S’Almonia, A small picturesque beach with stunning views and crystal clear water, Cala S’Almonia is a great spot to spend the afternoon and enjoy some swimming and snorkelling. Cala S’Almonia is just a 20-minute walk away from Cala Llombards, so they’re the perfect two to combine on a day of exploring. There are no restaurants or cafes on the small beach itself but, there are some in the nearby town.

Location: Southwestern coast, in the resort town of Palma Nova

When you think of the best beaches Mallorca Palma Nova Beach might not be the first one that springs to mind, due to its popularity. However, Palma Nova Beach is still really wonderful, with a ton of restaurants, bars, cafes and also public toilets. Making it not just one of the best beaches on Mallorca Spain but also one of the most convenient – especially if you’re staying somewhere like Magaluf or Palma.
The Mallorca beach is known for its lively atmosphere and convenient location to Palma and Magaluf. The beach is well-maintained and offers various water sports activities, it’s a lovely beach to spend a few hours at, especially if you don’t want to travel too far from your accommodation (and you’re staying in one of the main towns/ cities).
