Because of its location on the coast, there are so many lovely ocean viewpoints. Because of its urban nature, there are a ton of cute restaurants and city skyline views. And the best part is that- especially as a tourist- it’s so easy to get around the city! Uber and taxis are pretty much everywhere and a lot of things within the city centre are walkable (plus, you get to see a lot more this way!) Meaning you can visit even more photo spots in Sydney!

Arguably one of the most famous beaches in the world! Get up early if you want to grab a good spot on the beach or end your day hereafter completing the Coogee to Bondi beach walk, a perfect way to see the famous coastline.

2. Dudley Page Reserve

Dudley Page Reserve is a small park in the eastern suburbs with breath-taking, panoramic views of Australia’s favourite points; the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge. Not many tourists know about this spot so it is the perfect area to grab a slightly unusual picture with the whole of the Sydney skyline behind you.

3. Shark Bay

One of Sydney’s picturesque bays is found on the beautiful Hermitage Foreshore walk. For a peaceful moment outside of the city, yet still close enough for the skyline to be poking its head around the corner. Shark Bay is a gorgeous photo spot in Sydney.

4. Queen Victoria Building

Nothing beats a good dose of retail therapy and the Queen Victoria building is the place to do it. Complete with beautiful stained glass and intricate original detailing it is the perfect spot to meander around on a wet afternoon and snap a picture in!

5. Luna Park

Popular with people of all ages, Luna Park is the most iconic Amusement park in Sydney. Complete with retro fairground-style rides and attractions. We took the ferry over from Sydney Harbour one evening, the park is free to walk around, so the perfect opportunity to snap a fun photo!

6. The University of Sydney

Discover the otherworldly architecture at the University of Sydney. You can walk around the grounds here and take a look at the buildings, we shot this photo on the weekend so there weren’t many students around.

7. Bronte Baths Viewpoint

This semi-shaded cove can be found by climbing up the side of rock just behind Bronte baths, this spot has become a popular Instagram one and for good reason! It gives a beautiful view all over the baths and Bronte beach. The baths are a great alternative to Bondi Icebergs, and this, not so hidden, gem is totally free!

8. Botanical Gardens

The Botanical gardens are a beautiful spot to have a walk around and sit and enjoy a picnic, just around the corner from Sydney’s CBD they are easily accessible and feature lots of stunning plants.

9. Manly Beach

A great alternative to the popular Bondi Beach. Manly is a short scenic ferry ride from Sydney CBD, a long stretch of beach with shops and cafes. If you want to do a spot of snorkelling or just fancy a smaller cove head to Shelley beach as well, right around the corner. We love a good beach shot, so naturally, this had to make it into our top places!

11. Mrs Mcquaries Chair

Another of the most Instagrammable places in Sydney, Mrs Mcquaries Chair, for great reason, offering a view of the Opera house and Sydney Harbour bridge.

To reach Mrs Macquaries Chair towards Circular Quay. From Circular Quay there’s a beautiful walk through the Botanical Gardens that you follow to get here. Known to be a great tourist spot for sunset, it’s less of a chair, and more of a set of rocks heading out into the water. We took this photo just around the corner of it to avoid the crowds.

Undoubtedly the most iconic spot in Sydney. The Sydney Opera House needs no introduction. It is one of the most Instagrammable places in Sydney and a great photography spot in Sydney. Our top tip for getting a photo without anyone else in it is to arrive just after sunrise. Also, if it’s busy remember the Opera House has plenty of angles, the most generic one isn’t the only one, so, try different spots to capture your photo.
