11 Festive Christmas Markets in London For 2025 With Dates, Locations + Map
Updated for Christmas in London in 2025.
London is one of the most magical cities in the world at Christmas time. It is packed full of sparkling lights, charming shop fronts and iconic Christmas London markets.
The beauty of London is that it’s so large, meaning that there is so much to see. However, this can also mean that it can take a while to travel between each spot, even with the tube from
King’s Cross Christmas Markets in the North of London to Greenwich Christmas Market in the East. If you’re planning a trip to London in December, we recommend planning your schedule to fit in with the Christmas London markets and all of the other unmissable Christmas events.
Visit some of London’s best Christmas markets, including London Bridge Christmas markets, Winter Wonderland and the iconic Covent Garden Christmas Market.
There are two types of Christmas markets in London: permanent markets and pop-up markets.
Permanent markets are open all year, but get a major Christmas makeover come November.
Pop-up markets are temporary markets that are erected just for the Christmas season. These markets are made up of a series of wooden huts, with each hut either selling food, drinks, or gifts.
If you’re looking for a Christmas Market a bit further afield, I’ve written a handy post about our favourite ones in Europe.
Here is a list of all of the Christmas markets in London, including dates, locations, and highlights.
Christmas London Markets Map

Winter Wonderland Christmas Market
Dates: 14th November 2025 – 1st January 2026
Location: Hyde Park
Highlights: This enormous market offers everything from food stalls to exciting rides, an ice rink, and artisan gift shops. It’s one of the most popular Christmas markets in London, and the most famous, although potentially one of the least authentic. People either love it or hate it. It tends to be crowded and expensive.
Entrance fees to Winter Wonderland
Off-peak entrance is free, and standard entrance to Winter Wonderland costs £5, and peak costs £7.50 (although, technically, with the booking fee, the prices are actually £1, £5.50 and £8.25). You can buy your tickets from the Winter Wonderland website.
Southbank Centre Christmas Market
Dates: 3rd of November 2025 – 4th of January 2025
Location: Southbank Centre, along the Thames
Highlights: Just steps away from the London Eye, on the bank of the River Thames, is the Southbank Centre Christmas Market. Expect beautiful views along the Thames, handmade gifts, and a range of festive treats. Tuck into a carb-filled, cheese dish, mulled wine or craft beer from one of the stalls. The market is more about food and drinks than craft or gift stalls, so Southbank Centre Christmas Market might not be the best option for you if that’s what you’re looking for. But it’s still a lovely Christmas London market.
Leicester Square Christmas Market
Dates: 6th November 2025 – 5th January 2025
Location: Leicester Square
Highlights: This central market, in the heart of London, combines holiday treats with festive performances. Browse the traditional market filled with a wonderful array of crafts and treats before watching the family-friendly “La Clique”. Entrance is free.
Greenwich Christmas Market
Dates: 20th November 2025 – early January
Location: Greenwich Market
Highlights: Tick off your Christmas shopping whilst you’re at Greenwich Christmas Market. Known for its unique crafts, this market offers a cosy and family-friendly atmosphere. After you’ve finished shopping and soaked up the festive atmosphere, wander the historic maritime neighbourhood of Greenwich, which is usually decked out in lights and a nautical-inspired Christmas tree.
Battersea Power Station Christmas Market
Dates: 7th November 2025 – 4th January 2026
Location: Battersea Power Station, Turbine Hall B
Highlights: A riverside gem with festive decorations, ‘Glide’ ice rink, and many independent craft stalls. Enjoy the trail of festive installations, arts and crafts workshops and finish your Christmas shopping whilst you’re at it in one of the many shops that Battersea Power Station has on offer.
Winter by the River at London Bridge City
Dates: 13th November – 4th January 2026

King’s Cross Christmas Markets
Dates: 27th November – 22nd December 2026
Location: Euston Road, London N1 9AL
Highlights: The regenerated King’s Cross area will once again be transformed into a Christmas paradise in November, with eight different markets popping up over the course of five weeks. Centred around Coal Drops Yard, the King’s Cross markets feature artisan crafts, independent fashion, and unique seasonal gifts. With its whopping 47-foot Nordmann fir tree, it’s one not to be missed!
Old Spitalfields Christmas Market
Dates: November 29th to December 24th 2025
Location: Spitalfields, E1 6EW
Highlights: Home to 42 vendors, this market combines local indie shops and larger brand names in a festive atmosphere with a variety of food stalls. It’s the perfect Christmas London market to visit to buy some unusual festive gifts that you might not be able to find anywhere else.
Old Spitalfields Christmas Market will turn on the Christmas lights on November 13, with a special event at 5:30 p.m.
Hampton Court Palace Festive Fayre
Dates: The Hampton Court Palace Festive Fayre in 2025 will take place on two weekends: December 5th to 7th and December 12th to the 14th.

Covent Garden Christmas Market

Location: Covent Garden Piazza, London WC2E 8RF
Highlights: The famous 60-foot Christmas tree with over 30,000 lights, festive decorations, and various stalls selling artisanal gifts and gourmet treats. Live street performances and plenty of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options are available. Covent Garden really goes all out when it comes to Christmas with some of the best festive displays, including their sleigh and hourly snowfalls. It’s personally our favourite Christmas London market.
Their Christmas lights are switched on in Covent Garden on the 12th of November.

Kingston Christmas Market
Dates: 13th November – 28th December 2025
Location: Market Place, Kingston upon Thames, KT1 1JH
Highlights: A cosy riverside market with a mix of crafts, gourmet foods, and seasonal gifts along the Thames. The festive setup includes live music and entertainment.
This one is worth venturing a bit further out of London for.
